The Granby Memorial Bears were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 39-38 to the Somers Spartans. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Granby Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Somers, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4.

Granby Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-36 loss against Stonington on the 1st. Somers has also already played their next contest, a 69-44 defeat against Rocky Hill on the 1st.
