Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Find Success + How To Watch

Franklin Academy lost to Vance Charter back in November, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Patriots walked away with a 63-55 win over the Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Franklin Academy had a senior duo take command as Hayes Lewis posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists and Jacob Barnes almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The contest was Lewis' 15th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Mullin, who earned eight points.

Franklin Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Vance Charter's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Vance Charter lost, don't look at Keyan Richardson. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Richardson now owns an excellent 42.9% three-point shooting accuracy. Collin Hughes was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Franklin Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Vance Charter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Triangle Math & Science Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vance Charter, they will welcome Discovery Charter School at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
