Basketball Recap: IDEA College Prep Takes a Loss

IDEA College Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 65-42 to the Monte Alto Blue Devil. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Griffins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-47 back in December of 2024.

Monte Alto was led to victory by Ricky Serrano and Ramiro Vazquez. Serrano went 10 of 22 en route to 25 points and seven steals, while Vazquez went 8 for 11 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Serrano's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Drago Hernandez, who posted three points in addition to nine boards and five assists.

IDEA College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Monte Alto, their win bumped their record up to 16-14.

IDEA College Prep is taking a road trip to challenge Vanguard Academy Beethoven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monte Alto, they will be playing in front of their home fans against IDEA Quest College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
