Soccer Game Preview: The Colony vs. Independence

The Colony will head out to square off against the Independence Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colony's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

The Colony saw some tournament action on Saturday. They and South Garland finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Independence has been on a difficult stretch since their win on December 19. They fell just short of Allen by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Independence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Allen are ranked 19th).

The Colony's draw gives them a new season record of 1-3-3. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4-2.

The Colony suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Independence in their previous meeting back in January of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
