It was a good run, but Woodcreek unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 8-5 to the Rio Americano Raiders. The Timberwolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 11-8.

Woodcreek got a good showing from Dane Wyles, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Wyles has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Christian Murphy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Cody Scott was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Woodcreek's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 7-4. As for Rio Americano, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

As for Rio Americano, they will head out on the road to square off against Bella Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Americano's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Bella Vista's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
