Softball Recap: Whittier Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Whittier's offense. They came up short against the Downey Vikings on Saturday, falling 12-0. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Whittier's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Downey, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Whittier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-0 defeat against Cabrillo on the 8th. As for Downey, they will take on South El Monte at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Downey's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
