Softball Preview: Cocoa Tigers vs. Satellite Scorpions
The Cocoa Tigers have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Satellite Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Satellite took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cocoa, who comes in off a win.
Cocoa can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over Palm Bay. The victory was just what Cocoa needed coming off of a 15-1 loss in their prior game.
Alexa Jameson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit (and only one walk). Jameson has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Jameson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Destiny Hazel was a standout: she scored four runs while going 3-for-3. Jazmin Carlyle was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, a triple, and a run.
