Softball Recap: St. Mary Academy-Bay View Comes Up Short

St. Mary Academy-Bay View extended their losing streak to ten on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 1-11 in the process. They lost 19-0 to the Chariho Chargers. Surprisingly, this marked the Bengals' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Chariho, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games.

For Chariho's part, Adriana Jeannenot made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jeannenot has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Gabby Ricci looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Chariho got a massive performance out of Kaelyn Comerford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave Comerford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Tretton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
