Baseball Recap: Parkway South Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Parkway South proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Rolla Bulldogs 7-5.

Corwin Plank looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on August Johansen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andy Hertlein, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

Parkway South pushed their record up to 19-10 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Rolla, they now have a losing record of 14-15.

Coming up, Parkway South will be playing at home against Eureka at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Rolla does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
