Montcalm took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jefferson Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Generals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over the Cardinals on Saturday. The Generals' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Montcalm's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Jefferson Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Montcalm will challenge Greater Beckley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Generals surely won't give up without a fight. Jefferson Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
