Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Republic County). They snuck past the Valley Heights Mustangs with a 62-56 victory on Friday. This was payback for the Buffaloes, who suffered a 44-33 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Republic County's win bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Valley Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-9.

Republic County and Valley Heights could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings. Republic County (ranked 298th) will meet Beloit (ranked 77th) on Tuesday. Similarly, Valley Heights will face off against Hanover on Tuesday down 192 places (290 vs. 98).
