Soccer Recap: Appomattox County Comes Up Short

Appomattox County lost against Glass back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Raiders came up short against the Hilltoppers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Appomattox County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Glass are ranked 49th).

Appomattox County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5-2. As for Glass, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appomattox County will square off against Nelson County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Appomattox County's defense better be ready for this one: Nelson County have averaged an impressive 4.1 goals per game this season. As for Glass, they will take on Brookville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
