Basketball Game Preview: Blue Valley North Mustangs vs. Lincoln Southeast Knights

The Blue Valley North Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Lincoln Southeast Knights at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Blue Valley North is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

Last Friday, Blue Valley North sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 win over Blue Valley West. The 41-point effort marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Southeast lost to Westview at home by a 77-60 margin on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Knights still had to take the loss.

Blue Valley North will need focus on slowing down Mari Shumaker, one of several Lincoln Southeast players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayven Mitchell, who posted ten points.

Blue Valley North's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Lincoln Southeast, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
