Volleyball Recap: Colonie Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Colonie Central waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on Varsity Opponent with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Colonie Central was: they took every set by at least 20 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-0, 25-4.

Aylla DeFreitas had an outrageously good game as she had 13 aces and seven assists. Those 13 aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Simon, who had five aces and two assists.

They weren't the only good servers: Colonie Central was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 29 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The victory got Colonie Central back to even at 9-9-2.

Coming up, Colonie Central will face off against Guilderland at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Granite Baptist Academy on the 23rd.
