Sauk Rapids-Rice dropped their record down to 3-6 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 7-3 to the Rocori Spartans. The Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

As for Rocori, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games.

For Rocori's part, Zander Folkerts was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double marked the first that Folkerts has hit this season. Caleb Maddox was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sauk Rapids-Rice will welcome Alexandria at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Storm's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rocori, they will host Willmar at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
