Basketball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Comes Up Short

Sylva Bay Academy and River Oaks squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Sylva Bay Academy had to settle for second. They took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the River Oaks Mustangs. The Saints have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Sylva Bay Academy lost, don't look at Brody Boyd. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Boyd has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Moss, who had five points and five boards.

Sylva Bay Academy's record is now 22-8. As for River Oaks, their victory bumped their record up to 21-2.
