Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Gertrudis Academy). They put the hurt on the Robstown Cottonpickers with a sharp 18-3 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Santa Gertrudis Academy, bringing their record for this year to 7-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Robstown, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Santa Gertrudis Academy is taking a road trip to take on St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Robstown, they will host George West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
