Baseball Recap: Gateway Legacy Christian Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Francis Borgia, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Christian Fellowship a 12-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-run performance the game before.

Arturo Valdez was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eduardo Aular, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Gateway Legacy Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Christian Fellowship, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Gateway Legacy Christian Academy will square off against St. Charles West at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Christian Fellowship, they will face off against Hallsville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
