Softball Recap: Palmerton Victorious

Palmerton proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs 10-8. The Blue Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

HAILEY BARRY made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, TESSA SANDER was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. GRACE SCHNEIDER was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Palmerton's record is now 2-0. As for Northern Lehigh, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Palmerton will host Pleasant Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Palmerton's pitchers better be ready for this one: Pleasant Valley has averaged an impressive 9.5 runs per game this season. As for Northern Lehigh, they will face off against Notre Dame-Green Pond at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
