Volleyball Recap: Northgate Gets the Win

Northgate proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Acalanes Dons 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Northgate wouldn't go down easily and took Acalanes into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-15, 17-25, 16-25, 15-8.

Northgate is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. As for Acalanes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Northgate is set to take on their familiar foe Campolindo at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Acalanes will face off against rival Berean Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
