Crete-Monee has gone 9-1 against Rich Township recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors will challenge the Raptors at 4:30 p.m. Crete-Monee will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Saturday, Crete-Monee was able to grind out a solid victory over Argo, taking the game 4-1.
Christopher Schubbe looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Timothy Gaddis was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
Meanwhile, Rich Township waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with an 18-4 win. That's two games straight that the Raptors have won by exactly 14 runs.
Jesiah Dawson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Rich Township is 3-1 when Dawson allows one or fewer hits, but 8-11 otherwise. Dawson was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gio Rivera, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Crete-Monee's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-10. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Rich Township, their record now sits at 11-12.
Crete-Monee came out on top in a nail-biter against Rich Township in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
