Baseball Recap: Parkway Central Takes a Loss

Parkway Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to the Howell Central Spartans. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Dalton Pagel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since April 3rd.

At the plate, Parkway Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Applebaum, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Parkway Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Howell Central, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-8.

While Parkway Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
