Basketball Recap: St. John's/Tipton Catholic's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. John's/Tipton Catholic had won three straight games and Edward Horinek did his part to make it four on Friday. The St. John's/Tipton Catholic Blujays simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Stockton Tigers 78-39 thanks in part to Horinek, who went 10-for-18 to rack up 22 points in addition to six assists and six boards. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least 18 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Gates, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 10 points and five steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

St. John's/Tipton Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Stockton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. John's/Tipton Catholic will challenge Pike Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John's/Tipton Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Pike Valley likes a good challenge. As for Stockton, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Cardinals on Tuesday.
