Soccer Game Preview: Brown Deer vs. Howards Grove

The Brown Deer Falcons will face off against the Howards Grove Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Brown Deer's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Wednesday. Brown Deer came up short against Whitnall, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Brown Deer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while Whitnall is ranked 29th).

Meanwhile, Howards Grove waltzed into their contest last Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Flying Dutchmen get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give Howards Grove's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Howards Grove pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Brown Deer, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7-1.
