Pelion posted their closest win since August 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wagener-Salley War Eagles, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Pelion who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-15, 19-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-10.

Alexia Hansen paced Pelion's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hansen got some help from Hayley Maxwell and her ten assists. Maxwell also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Owens, racking up four apiece.

The win got Pelion back to even at 2-2-1. As for Wagener-Salley, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Pelion will challenge Swansea at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wagener-Salley will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' match: after the Panthers face off against the Tigers, they'll take on Wagener-Salley again at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
