Baseball Game Preview: Silsbee Tigers vs. West Orange-Stark Mustangs

For the second straight game, Silsbee will face off against West Orange-Stark. The Tigers will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Silsbee turned things around against West Orange-Stark on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Matsyn Morris made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Silsbee got a massive performance out of Mikey Moshier, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave Moshier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brendon Hughes, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.

Silsbee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Orange-Stark is on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17-1. As for Silsbee, their win bumped their record up to 15-9-1.
