Basketball Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. River Bluff Gators
Dutch Fork has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the River Bluff Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Dutch Fork had to settle for a 61-58 loss against the Eagles.
Despite the defeat, Dutch Fork had strong showings from Bryson Taylor, who scored 17 points, and Samajae Govan, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Govan has scored all season. Caleb Garner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, River Bluff earned a 63-53 win over the Fighting Green Hornets on Friday.
Dutch Fork has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season. As for River Bluff, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Dutch Fork came up short against the Gators when the teams last played back in January, falling 57-46. Can Dutch Fork avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
