Baseball Game Preview: Antioch Bears vs. Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints

The Antioch Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Mount Juliet Christian Academy Saints at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Antioch blew Stratford out of the water the last time the pair played, but last Monday Stratford got their revenge. Antioch fell just short of Stratford by a score of 3-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Mount Juliet Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Middle Tennessee Monarchs.

Kayden Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Edgerton, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Antioch might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from Mount Juliet Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Antioch avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
