Baseball Recap: Beaver Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Beaver ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Hampton Talbots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 last Monday.

The team relied heavily on Derek Hughes, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was RJ Sebek, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Beaver's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hampton, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Beaver will venture away from home to challenge Central Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hampton, they will welcome Highlands at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
