Volleyball Recap: Flint Hill Falls Short Against Ranked James Wood

Flint Hill faced James Wood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Huskies took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colonels. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colonels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-18.

Hunter Ross paced Flint Hill's offense, picking up seven kills. Ross got some help from Ava Zender and her six assists. Zender also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Evie Huang, racking up two apiece.

Flint Hill's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2. As for James Wood, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Coincidentally, Flint Hill and James Wood will both be playing Bishop McNamara the next time they take the court. The Colonels will head out to face the Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
