Basketball Game Preview: Centreville Bulldogs vs. Union City Chargers

The Centreville Bulldogs will face off against the Union City Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Centreville took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They managed a 56-52 victory over Cassopolis. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Union City beat Homer 64-51 on Monday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Trojans are ranked 633rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Centreville pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.2 points. As for Union City, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.

Centreville came up short against Union City in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 69-58. Can Centreville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
