Leigh won the last time they faced Branham and things went their way on Friday too. The Leigh Longhorns walked away with a 69-59 victory over the Branham Bruins. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Bruins are ranked 692nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Branham's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Taylor, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Carlo Marinucci was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Leigh is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points over those games. Branham has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Leigh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-58 win against Wilcox on the 15th. Branham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
