Preview: New Lexington Panthers vs. Tri-Valley Scotties

New Lexington is 1-9 against Tri-Valley since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The New Lexington Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Tri-Valley Scotties at 6:45 p.m. New Lexington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

New Lexington scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-52 win over Maysville. Given New Lexington's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Maysville is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

New Lexington's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makenzy McCoy, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCoy has scored all season. Chloe Dick was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Tri-Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 56-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvest Prep.

New Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

New Lexington strolled past Tri-Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 67-52. Does New Lexington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tri-Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
