Blacklick Valley is 9-1 against Ferndale since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Yellow Jackets at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Blacklick Valley has seven straight wins, Ferndale has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Blacklick Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Shanksville Stonycreek, taking the game 5-1.

Aiden Boring was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Ferndale didn't have quite enough to beat Turkeyfoot Valley Area two weeks ago and fell 5-4.

Connor Hrivnak was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Maddex Chuklochak also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Blacklick Valley pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ferndale, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Blacklick Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Ferndale in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 5-4. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellow Jackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
