Lincoln is 9-1 against Taylorville since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Railsplitters will host the Tornadoes at 11:00 a.m. Lincoln has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They came up short against Champaign Central on Thursday, falling 15-0. The Railsplitters have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Taylorville didn't have quite enough to beat Warrensburg-Latham on Thursday and fell 8-7.

Maxx Grieme was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Pembroke, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Taylorville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-3 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Lincoln came out on top in a nail-biter against Taylorville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Railsplitters have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tornadoes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
