Oldenburg Academy waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the North Decatur Chargers 50-48. For the Twisters, this counts as revenge for the 68-48 victory the Chargers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

North Decatur's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen Rennekamp, who posted 13 points. Those 13 points gave Rennekamp a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Eldridge, who put up 11 points.

Oldenburg Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for North Decatur, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

The future could be bright for both Oldenburg Academy and North Decatur: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Oldenburg Academy will try to hand Rising Sun their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Similarly, North Decatur will try to hand Madison their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
