Mount Miguel has gone a perfect 3-0 against Hoover recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Matadors will look to defend their home field against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mount Miguel came up short against Crawford on Wednesday, falling 26-10. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jasmine Bosley stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Laylah Castro, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Hoover lost 20-9 to Guajome Park Academy on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Lilly Robles led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Priscilla Lopez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mount Miguel, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mount Miguel hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. However, it's not like Hoover struggles in that department as they've averaged .462. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Mount Miguel took their victory against Hoover when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6 score. Will the Matadors repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
