Baseball Game Preview: Tennyson Lancers vs. San Leandro Pirates

For the second straight game, Tennyson will face off against San Leandro. The Lancers will challenge the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tennyson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight straight losses, while San Leandro will come in with eight straight victories.

Tennyson fell victim to San Leandro and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Pirates.

For San Leandro's part, not much got past Ky Lenn Smith, who gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Tennyson off the board. Smith has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, San Leandro got a massive performance out of Gary Ferguson, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Stanley Acevedo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

San Leandro pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Tennyson, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
