Baseball Recap: Rising Sun Takes a Loss

After flying high against Shawe Memorial on Monday, Rising Sun came back down to earth. The Shiners came up short against the South Ripley Raiders on Wednesday, falling 9-2. The matchup marked the Shiners' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Rising Sun saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was DJ Williams, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Rising Sun's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Ripley, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rising Sun is set to face off against their familiar foe Switzerland County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, South Ripley will challenge rival Jac-Cen-Del at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
