Basketball Recap: Southwest Comes Up Short

Southwest played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Bleckley County Royals 57-17. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Royals: they've now lost six in a row.

Shakiya Dean was Southwest's leading scorer, having posted five points.

Southwest's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Bleckley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.

Southwest won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southwest is facing Northeast at the right time seeing as Northeast is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Bleckley County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Central at 6:00 p.m. Central will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Bleckley County surely won't give up without a fight.
