Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends El Monte's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but El Monte unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 8-1 to the South El Monte Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.

El Monte saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Victoria Valdez, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

El Monte's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for South El Monte, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. El Monte is set to face off against their familiar foe Arroyo at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, South El Monte will take on rival Gabrielino at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
