Football Recap: Dixie County Takes a Loss

Dixie County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They took a blow against the Taylor County Bulldogs, falling 54-18. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 195th).

Keydran Teague threw for 200 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Iyon Teague was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards.

As for Taylor County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average this season.

Jabez Glanton had a dynamite game, rushing for 48 yards and one score, while also throwing for 84 yards and a pair of TDs on perfect 7-for-7 passing.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie County will square off against Belleview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Taylor County, they will venture away from home to challenge North Florida Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
