Basketball Recap: Cary Academy Piles Up the Points Against Eastern Randolph + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charlotte Country Day School, Cary Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They breezed past the Eastern Randolph Wildcats to the tune of 82-42. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cary Academy was led to victory by McCoy Williams and Julian Tweedy. Williams went 6-for-10 on his way to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Tweedy shot 55% from the field to rack up 22 points along with seven boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Tweedy a new career-high. Tj Harrell was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 10 points.

Cary Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Coming up, Cary Academy will head out to square off against Covenant Day at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.86 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Eastern Randolph, they will host Chatham Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
