Basketball Recap: Middlesboro Takes a Loss

Middlesboro lost against Harlan County last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Middlesboro Yellowjackets were beaten by the Harlan County Black Bears 74-23. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 231st, while the Black Bears are ranked 23rd).

Middlesboro has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Harlan County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-7.

Coming up, Middlesboro won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Oneida Baptist Institute at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harlan County, they will host Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
