Basketball Recap: West Valley Comes Up Short

West Valley and Alhambra squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but West Valley had to settle for second. They fell 49-39 to the Alhambra Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 271st).

This is the second loss in a row for West Valley and nudges their season record down to 20-12. As for Alhambra, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-14.

West Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Alhambra, they will venture away from home to face off against Argonaut at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Argonaut knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 33 matches -- so hopefully Alhambra likes a good challenge.
