Baseball Game Preview: Seymour Thunder vs. Menasha Bluejays

For the second straight game, Seymour will face off against Menasha. The Thunder will head out to take on the Bluejays at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Seymour has five straight victories, Menasha has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Seymour barely beat Menasha the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Bluejays on Tuesday. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Seymour let Brandon Poch and Colten Nieland run wild. Poch scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Nieland scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those stolen bases were Poch's first of the season. Brady Poch was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Seymour kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Seymour pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Menasha, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
