Softball Recap: Borrego Springs Rams vs. Warner Wildcats
Borrego Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 23-10 to the Warner Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-10 last Tuesday.
Vanessa (Dulce) Morales made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kayla Rodriguez, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Borrego Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Warner, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Looking ahead, Borrego Springs will challenge Vincent Memorial at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Scots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.17 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Warner, they will square off against Julian at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last six matchups.
