Basketball Recap: Holden Eagles vs. Knob Noster Panthers

The Holden Eagles lost against the Knob Noster Panthers back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Holden took a serious blow against the Panthers, falling 92-43. While losing is never fun, Holden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while the Panthers are ranked 203rd).

Holden's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kasyn Tevis, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Brody Bockover, who scored eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Holden and nudges their season record down to 3-16. As for Knob Noster, they pushed their record up to 12-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.

Holden and the Spartans will face off at 8:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Knob Noster, they will head out on the road to take on the Huskers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette County is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 13 games.
