Deep Run has gone a perfect 10-0 against Freeman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Deep Run is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Patrick Henry, who was ranked fourth at the time (Deep Run was ranked 18th). The Wildcats lost 9-1 to the Patriots on Wednesday. The matchup marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Deep Run saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sadie Hutchens, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Freeman fell victim to St. Catherine's and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Saints, falling 6-0. The Mavericks just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Freeman's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Deep Run, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Freeman's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Deep Run has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Freeman, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Deep Run keep running through batters, or will the Mavericks buck the trend?

Deep Run was able to grind out a solid victory over Freeman in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, winning 7-4. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
