Baseball Preview: Little Miami Panthers vs. Sycamore Aviators

The Little Miami Panthers will face off against the Sycamore Aviators at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Little Miami is returning to their home field after beating Lakota West on theirs, despite the fact Lakota West has dominated at home this season. The Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Firebirds 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 21st.

Blake Longbottom looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, Ian Arthur was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Fox, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Sycamore, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.
